Hello, I’m Cherlene Robson.

First and foremost, I am a Christian counsellor.
Like most counsellors, I recognise that personal problems can be a result of physiology, social-environmental influences and psychological pressures.

I also believe that many problems can be spiritual in nature, resulting from either not understanding biblical truth or from sinful behaviour. I also believe that individuals are created in God's image and can only feel complete and fulfilled through a relationship with Jesus.

Christian counselling takes a holistic approach to counselling, looking at the spiritual as well as the emotional and physical needs of clients. Stress, anxiety, depression, burnout and relationship issues don't have to have the final say in your life. There is hope in Christ.

The main goal of Christian counselling, like the goal of Christian living, is to enable clients to move toward greater emotional and spiritual health. I have extensive experience in the areas of cross-cultural marriage, raising Godly children, cultural adjustment, depression, truth therapy and more; helping couples get through the conflict in their marriage and return to intimacy and oneness in God.

Restoring relationships, setting right priorities, and paying attention to spirituality. These are the things that Christian counselling provides.

As a Christian counsellor, I am not limited to psychological techniques or to my own human effort and wisdom. I believe that God is the real authority in counselling and He gives us the resources to change. I believe counselling should involve praying about the client's difficulties and looking to the authority of the Bible for guidance. In this way, I seek to encourage clients to trust and obey God and to build a dependency on God. The client can find forgiveness for the past, strength and comfort for the present, and hope for the future by trusting the Lord to daily meet needs and heal emotional wounds. I try to reflect the character of Jesus Christ and to love my clients as He does. While I do not try to force religion on my clients, I do urge them to develop a relationship with the only true Healer of body, soul and spirit, Jesus Christ.
